Background

Piano: AVCM diploma in Collaborative Piano from the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Principal teacher was Robert Holliston. In November 2009 soprano Monica Orso and I won first prize in the Senior Division of the Conservatory’s annual Lieder competition.   Since 2014 I have been the accompanist for the Newcombe Singers community choir.

Violin: B.Mus. degree from the University of Victoria and AVCM diplomas from the Victoria Conservatory in violin performance and teaching. At the University of Victoria, I studied violin under Sharon Stanis and played in the first violin section of the UVic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ajtony Csaba. My violin teacher at the Victoria Conservatory was Dr. Walter Mony.  I now play jazz on the violin with jazz pianist Peter Dent and also occasionally with local jazz groups.

Organ: I am the organist at the Cathedral Parish of St. John the Evangelist (Anglican Catholic) in Victoria BC Canada. For several years I have had advanced training under Canon Michael Gormley, music director emeritus at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria, and tutoring in music theory from Nicholas Fairbank.  I have performed on the organ at Christ Church Cathedral (Victoria BC) on several occasions, in particular with Michael Gormley’s Capriccio Choir in Faure’s Requiem; Vierne’s Messe Solonnelle; and Rupert Lang’s Kontakion.

‘So dramatic and powerful. This was my favorite piece performed at the organ recital at Christ Church Cathedral, Feb. 13th.
