Background
Piano: AVCM diploma in Collaborative Piano from the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Principal teacher was Robert Holliston. In November 2009 Robert Dukarm and soprano Monica Orso won first prize in the senior division of the Conservatory’s annual Lieder competition. Robert is the accompanist for the Newcombe Singers choir.
Violin: B.Mus. degree from the University of Victoria and AVCM diplomas from the Victoria Conservatory in violin performance and teaching. At the University of Victoria, he studied violin under Sharon Stanis and played in the first violin section of the UVic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Ajtony Csaba. His violin teacher at the Victoria Conservatory was Dr. Walter Mony. Robert now plays jazz on the violin with jazz pianist Peter Dent.
Organ: Robert is the organist at the Cathedral Parish of St. John the Evangelist (Anglican Catholic) in Victoria BC Canada. He is continuing his organ studies under Michael Gormley, organist at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria. On November 11 2014, Robert played the organ at Christ Church Cathedral in a performance of Faure’s Requiem under the direction of Michael Gormley with his choir Capriccio. On November 11 2015, Robert played the big organ in a Capriccio performance of Vierne’s Messe Solonnelle at Christ Church Cathedral.
